Micro 4/3 to PL or Canon EF Mount?

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has considered mounting micro 4/3 lenses to the mounts available on the RED camera systems. Typically people are looking to go from PL to micro 4/3 so they can use certain lenses on micro 4/3 systems like an AF100 or a digital still camera that has micro 4/3 mounts, and adaptors are readily available for that purpose. But I've not encountered any mount options that go in the other direction. It's about using certain really high quality build lenses that were designed for micro 4/3 that would work optimally on a RED at 3k. The Voigtlander 25mm .9 would work beautifully in that context if an adaptor were available. Given mirror shutter issues I can understand why this mount is not available for Canon 5d/7d users. For something like Red, I'd think you could get around it.

Any ideas? The folks over at cameraquest says "this is impossible". Which typically means... it's not! :)

That would make a lot of people happy, to be able to use this Oly 7-14 mm zoom for 2k and 3k shooting, where your lens MM is doubled.
But it wouldn't cover 4K or 5K.

Is it easy to explain why this is not possible, given the Scarlet-x layout? It's not clear to me that it's a flange/focal-depth issue.

4/3 lenses will not project an image large enough to cover a S35mm sensor. It's not a flange distance issue.

The OP was intending to use the M4/3 glass in the Scarlet's 3k mode.

Also the Flange distance for the M4/3 standard is 20mm. I imagine the Scarlet's is longer. The RED One has a 27.3mm flange focal distance. You would not be able to focus to infinity.

Is it even possible that RED could build a micro four thirds mount for their Epic/Scarlet, and somehow make it sit at the required depth to achieve proper infinity focus? I love my Nokton F/.95, and would love to use it on Scarlet-X, even if only at 3K resolutions.

micro four thirds lenses will be very useful for scarlet shooters shooting high fps at 3k

the 3k window on the sensor is 4/3rds

A third party manufacturer should make a m43 scarlet mount if red doesn't even if its just to use the micro four thirds 20mm f1.7 pancake, this would give the equivalent field of view to a 50mm but with 48 fps

edit: I just realized the m43 lenses like the 20/1.7 don't have aperture rings. Maybe RED will make a smart mount one day.

Short of saying that it's impossible I would say that it is by a huge (price) margin not practical to do that-in the current Scarler layout that is...
and please don't ask why-you are not going to come up with the miraculous solution....
