  1. #131 Match batch and Renaming files
Has anyone found a way to batch rename samurai files to match the red file names?
I imagine theirs only one thing they have in common....time created.

Atomos has said for over six months this is comming but if there's a way to do it with a third party ap.
    I'd consider buying 2.

But I can't sit at the end of day and copy paste file names.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Have you emailed ATOMOS to try and get a timeline for the filename thing? I'm actually holding out for this reason too... That and XLRs are making the decision between the Samurai and a PIX too close to call.

A couple of days ago they responded to my Facebook page about the file naming, and they say it has been escalated to the development team. The lastest firmware has been working flawlessly.

yes I have emailed them 3 times regarding the same issue.
Penny has responded nicely every time but it's the same answer.

I have mentioned that IF these guys want their devices to play with the big kids this is really important feature for the conform process.

I really like the PIX too but If i remember correctly ....it doesn't record the smaller formats/codecs that the samurai does.
I think samurai will do really well once more it can record offspeeds/high speed and get camera file meta data into its file structure.

On small shows...if you are ontop of your incamera looks on the day....you could have prores_HQ or LT daylies with audio and TC at the end of the day
Direct to post and everyone else even faster.

The PIX 240 will record ProRes and DNxHD from 36Mbps, 8 bit up to 220Mbps, 10 bit.

Looks like the target date for matching file names is September around IBC.

Working on an apple script to do the conversion.
now if someone could provide me with a few red clips and corresponding samurai clips
    I could test it.
It wouldn't take more than 4 clips from each device a couple seconds in duration.

Anyone who has both willing to help out?

    Thx

    This is from the hyperdeck-thread:

"Our German distributor for Atomos told me that the new firmware 4.0.2 (from Dec. 17th) should support RED filenaming on the Samurai. Adjustable audio delay too."

Anyone care to shed some light on this?
