Looks like a great new set of tools to use on our footage. Love how things keep progressing with RED. Now my big question is where is the "send to Adobe" function and what does it do. As far as I can tell currently, the Alchemy effects do not show up in Premiere CS5.5 yet.

On the stills panel you can select a still and send it as a tiff to either Lightroom or Photoshop. On the export panel you can right click on a finished transcode and perform a similar action. Ditto from inside a bin. You can expect our interoperability with Adobe products to grow.

Does Alchemy work with Red Rocket? Changes in the post effects don't seem to appear on output from Red Rocket.

Tooled around (it comes naturally to a tool) in Beta 5 for a few moments. One word: wow.

Not loving the 3-4 seconds it takes for any change to appear on the image, even playing with the single frames from Jarred's warehouse shoot.

Same complaint I've had from day one of the last Redcine...

i5 2500K, 16GB RAM, GTX570...should not be unable to process single frames...

I'll place my Scarlet-X order the very instant ACR supports r3d stills, but...

That's odd. Any change I make appears on the image pretty much instantly; I'd say in approx. half a second. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit on an ancient Core i7-920 (2.67GHz), 12 gigs of RAM and an AMD Radeon HD 6870.

Debugging your problem would be easier if RED would tell us what processes and resources RCX hooks on to so you could make sure those bits are up-to-date, and maybe try uninstalling/re-installing them. It's clear there's something blocking your system from working as fast as it could. [/Captain Obvious]

So how does the new Saturation slider near Alchemy in Look>Effects differ from the usual Saturation in Look>Image? Should I be using one over the other?
