Justin, can you explain the main difference between Electra with battery plate and Electra with quickrelease?

    Hey Demetri,

The main difference in the 2 package options is that the package that contains the "battery module" rather than just the "v-mount/ab plate" has more flexibility for quick release and mounting options. As a separate module with its own quick release, the battery module adds a lot of functionality to the EPIC. The battery module can quickly be switched from the Proteus to the Electra to other mounting configurations (like the swivel mount, or on 15mm rods), allowing you to decide if you need to use the Electra or Proteus on the particular shoot (or shot) or not. The type of mounting plate (AB / V-Mount) can also be changed rather quickly for camera operators who made need to utilize 2 different types of batteries in a single shoot. The quick release system may also be favorable for customers who would like to add on future ActionProducts power modules onto their camera. For those who buy the package without the quick release battery plate, you would typically utilize just a single configuration (V-mount/AB + Electra to the Proteus to the EPIC or Scarlet).

    Justin,

I already have an Anton Bauer QRC-Epic plate setup on rods via the AB Matrix plate. Is there a way to integrate my existing setup with the Electra+Proteus, or would I need to also purchase your battery module?

Justin, so if I get the quick release version I can for instance "bypass" the Electra module and mount the battery plate directly on Protheus thus creating a similar solution to VF/x battery plates, right?

And when I need all the functionality of Electra I can just "squeeze" it between Protheus and the battery module?

    Hey Jacob,
Thanks for the interest. I'll have to get back to you about this, I just want to confirm it.

    Dear Demetri,

Yup! You can "bypass" the Electra if you don't need it, which would make your configuration look similar to the solutions you mentioned, but of course would have the additional power outs for more accessories and Redmote when utilizing the Proteus. We also have some other mounting options for the battery plate (for example on 15mm rods or on our shouldermount) for even more configurations.

Yes, you would also need to purchase the battery module (or at least the v-mount/ab plate, depending on the package you choose). The QRC plate is NOT directly compatible, and the costs associated with converting a plate about negate the price of the plate. Sorry!
