Mounted vertically no less! My side handle should ship this week which will get me power. Add my Canon mount, throw the 17 TS-E on and I'm ready to shoot tall buildings in a single bound!

    So loving this camera ;)

Yeah, can't wait for the side handle.... it's the final piece of the puzzle for me to be small, portable and unobtrusive, while packing a nuclear weapon underneath!! :D

    Thanks for the pics!

    Cheers from Tokyo,

    Paul :)

    Hey Christopher,

Is the Zucato EVF better to look into compared to the Bomb EVF...
Since RED Bomb evfs take 6 months to a year to land, i'm thinking of one of these in the short term.. or long term for my other EPICs

Are they as sharp?, bright? good contrast? good blacks, detailed whites?...
I've never seen one in the flesh.

Just bought one Arca Swiss L bracket yesterday.
How you mount it on the side?

edit: sorry, it's just sitting on the side...

I think it's pretty decent, Mark. I don't have a Bomb on hand for comparison though. It does feel quite comparable to my touchscreen. Color is close, blacks are good but hilights are its weak point, they blow out faster on the ZVF than my touchscreen. Sharpness is quite good and the built-in 1:1 zoom has me nailing focus wide open. I like that I can run it and the touchscreen if necessary. Drag that it disables SDI output (for now).

It's big and ugly but it totally gets the job done and the Epic will give you menus, preview or clean feeds on it.

The zacuto EVF , I like very much. However the I haven't got the HDMI to work yet. How did you get yours to work?
Other problem is power. You got to mess around with those canon batteries.
I wished zacuto came out with a SDI version. One thing - the cineroid sdi EVF as an alternative? it doesn't work with RED EPIC. becuase it needs interlace. RED pushes progressive.

I am alittle disappointed with the bomb. The EVF is showing some weird artifacts. I hope RED fixes this ASAP, also the spliting image bug which happens in LCD and EVF is driving me nuts.

For $1,000 and available now, that's pretty tempting. The fact that I can also throw it on my Canon (if I can be bothered) is a bonus!

Just ordered it and look forward to checking it out. Hey Mark, if you're in Sydney sometime, swing by and check it out on the Epic.
