    Best Regards,
My order was placed on NOV 3rd and the same evening the Scarlet X became available. On that evening or even after that Jarred stated the RED Armor was available for purchase anytime for the next year and could be purchased anytime before the original warranty expires. I'm assuming I must not have to buy it before my order is placed as that would have been IMPOSSIBLE since the new policy with RED Armor just changed?? Please help answer this as it is important to me to have RED Armor

I guess the policy has changed. I thought it was mentioned, at the scarlet release, that you had up to a year to buy the Armor. I dont like this new policy.

I understand new policy for new buyers but I bought mine on Nov 3rd. Had I known this I would have saved on accessories and put it toward this. Now I'm broke after my Scarlet X . I see a lot of people canceling their orders over this unless RED honors what Jarred stated in the original post, at least for us who bought immediately. We'll see

I'm hoping that when I'm contacted for the full payment I'll have the opportunity to add this. I also thought I had some time to add it on. No sweat that I can't, just want to be able to add it now so my investment is fully covered. I can't imagine RED wouldn't honor the addition now since the camera hasn't even shipped yet.

I'm in the same boat. I'm not impressed with either this change or the way it (hasn't) been announced, but to be fair the original announcement technically relates to the EPIC. I've decided not to cancel, instead I'll just have to make do without RED armor.

Don't get me wrong, I am not going to cancel anything. I want and need my Scarlet X, but it is a bit messed up for me to learn about it here. My bomb squad rep just emailed me back and it sounds like as long as it is done before shipping we're good. This was loosely stated, so I think we should be good. I'll follow up with him to figure this out. To me the warranty is a no brainer but just expensive all at the same time.

I just contacted Red by telephone and spoke with a nice dude named Chris. He kindly added the warranty onto my order and assured me that as long as everyone adds the extended warranty before the camera ships, you'll be fine.

I'm not worried at all about adding an extra 10% to my order for 2 years of additional coverage. That's a no brainer. I thought I had a year to add it on which would have been cool, but I can see why they decided to change that. Imagine the legal and technical issues of procession multiple thousands of warranty orders throughout the year. It's never fun to spend money on something that you may never use, but after the year is up you'll have forgotten about the small fee you paid to have your camera covered for another 2 years.

Also, if you could wait, you may always find an excuse not to add the warranty and then when it's too late you'll wish you would have just done it to begin with.

I agree it's kind of a no brainer, but there are a couple of reasons why you might want to wait - budgetary, of course, if you thought you didn't need to find that money until later, and also if you might think that within a year you may upgrade to an Epic... and there's no resale value to the Red Armor.

I don't think the decision is because it's too complicated (I mean it's a case of updating a record next to the serial number... Apple manage it on a scale many times more complicated) or because RED owners need to be protected from their forgetfulness or making the wrong choice. But it's a business decision they've made and I respect that... it just needs to be made a bit clearer that this change happened.

It's *kind* of a no-brainer though. Do we get a refund if we sell the camera within a year? It would suck to buy it. Sell it in 11 months and it never activate.

I too was expecting to purchase Red Armor for my Scarlet-X within the year, considering the funds are low now and Red Armor isn't going to assist me in retrieving some of it back. This is unfortunate news indeed.
