tax rates in switzerland?

hi,

it now looks like i'll receive my camera while living in Switzerland.

does any one know what the tax rates are here or how to find them out.

my French is quite bad, but i am learning but finding my way around some suisse .gov sites is not easy.

The swiss customs told me:

RED One camera and accessoires have the custom tariff number 8525.8090, 66.- CHF per 100kg gross

Lenses have custom tariff number 9002.1100, 245.- CHF per 100kg gross

as Stephen said: VAT is 7.6%, refundable

Hi Chas,

If you live in the UK you will have to pay UK taxes when you return home in theory.

The Swiss customs are very likely to allocate the wrong tax rate to goods, however the difference is always quite small.
