Those were rough ballpark specs given..so until you hear otherwise..think you can expect something similar. Why are people
freaked about Epic-S ? Think Calm Blue Ocean people....

To the moon and back for $20 bucks sounds like a challenge. You up for it, Jim? ;-)

I would agree with all of this, had it not been for all of the hyping that Jim had put out this week. It seems like RED is happy to put out hype that encourages speculation and "what ifs." And then days later puts out a post like this, which basically says "stop asking questions and wait for us to bring the product to market". Many companies would kill to have this much interest in their new product, so why is it that we are being made to feel bad for asking "where is it?" This, IMO, can only be taken as a compliment to the company and the achievements they have made.

RED, what do you want. No interest in you game changing camera or the entire industry watching your every move. You've kinda set yourself up for the later. If it's all about the EPIC, then I guess the Scarlet audience can jog on.

So if I'm reading this correctly, there is in fact no real reason to ever visit REDUSER. Because this place will be full of speculation and no hard facts.

Those in waiting probably sympathize with Toia's post, as do some future epic owners, but most seem alot more understanding if they have there hands on cameras, or will soon. It's easier to agree with the Idea if you already have something or have something coming soon. The ones in waiting (epic s/Scarlet) are often forgotten by the majority that don't have to wait as long.
jeff, i understand. while i do get to work with red footage a bit, it is not all that i get unfortunately. it is not extremely easy for me to get a red camera in my hands. i am shooting in a couple of months and still don't know where i'm getting cameras from. i would rather be shooting on my own camera but don't know if i will have it in my hands. i do NOT want to shoot video on my dslr for something this important to me (not to mention, lots of vfx). but what i see is that red is looking forward with long term goals. it's too easy for us to get stuck in the short term. this industry is bizarrely shortsighted. i'm all about taking the relaxed method and looking for long term goals. i have nothing in my hands, but i agree with the decision, though it makes me no less anxious about my upcoming project, which i will probably have to rent cameras for. im sure others can relate. my advice... look at the horizon and appreciate the beautiful sunset ahead.

    Good.

I hope the "everything changes" line leaves with it too.

I'm not so into "looking," I want to film the sunset bro. That's the problem.

You are not alone. Include Jarred, and I agree. Lots of noise to get to the signal, but thankfully Jim and Jarred tend to quote what they are replying to.
Someone want to start a service to give us forum posts without all the "me too/plus one" posts?

If you look in the red bar at the top of a post from a RED employee, on the right side of the bar next to the post number you will see something that says "RED TEAM". It's a little hard to see if you don't already know its there due to its hue. Click on that and you will be taken to the next post from a RED team member in that thread. Thusly you can skip every post that doesn't come from RED if you want.
