We got the first of two canon mounts a while back. Still waiting on the second, which was ordered first strangely enough. I wonder if thos Al mounts will start shipping before the Ti ones get out of backorder

I hope RED gets the Ti EOS mounts out of backorder before they start shipping the Al mounts. I would imagine that's what the plan is.

Maybe the Al mounts are sufficient for Canon use? That seems to be the overwhelming implication of the Scarlet announcement.

So how much for just the Al Canon mount for my Epic?

Yeah, if they gave me the option of AL mount more quickly, I'd take it for now.

Unless you are hulking around some of the bigger white lenses, the Al mount should be more than sufficient.

If I would get it within the next few days, I'd order the Al version in addition to my Ti-version. The wait is killing me... Or if they let me pay some $ to skip to the front of the line - well there's still money left in my account...

BTW: what's the weight difference between the two versions?

It does seem like the Ti mount is a bit overkill. If they could get these Al mounts out the door right now I would take that over the Ti mount for sure.

I'd really like to know how many they sold in one hour! But does sound like there is only one machinist knocking out a few a day.

I think I'm months and months from getting my CANON mount orders... I ordered a few a couple of weeks after. !!! I was hoping to get mine by early December for a multi country shoot we are doing... JOKE !!!!! ... yes yes.. stop laughing!

Ill stick with my superspeeds. :)
Mark, it could be worse. For instance, you could be waiting on a phantom Nikon mount that hasn't even been released yet and when it is, there will be thousands who stay on this forum 24/7 who will reserve a year's worth of production in ten minutes time before anyone who has cameras waiting even learns they are in the store.
One camera is a shoot... two or more is a production.

$500. I wasn't planning on buying a Ti Canon mount. But for $500, I may as well get the Al.

I was going to wait awhile for a $2k Ti Canon, but if Al Canon is available for $500, I want one now.
