Question about iris control. I assume that you can dial any iris F number you need, lets say F5.6 etc.
Is there any way to change iris during shoot? I mean in the middle of recording I would like to change iris to larger/smaller aperture. If so, how is to done? In stop increments, fraction of stops, or can it be done smoothly without steps?

Any news on being able to mess with the focus...

EX: using the redmote pro to turn the 40 degree focus turn into 360 degrees?

There was a lot of talk about this type of stuff originally but I haven't heard much about it lately.

I can't speak for this mount, but with my old Birger mount on the Red One it was 1/4 stop increments and not a smooth transition. That's a limitation of the lens, not the mount, as the lenses were never designed for continuous iris pulls. It's always possible that Red can create some smoothing algorithms, but that's not information I'm privy to or knowledgeable on. I'd guess it'd be hard given Erik Widding couldn't do it for the Birger.

    HTH!

Looking forward to this mount more than anything, since I only shoot with Canon stills lenses for all my own work (client shoots where I'm not the DP or director obviously choose PL a lot of the time).

    Cheers from Tokyo,

    Paul :)

    This looks awesome!

One question though. I remember hearing that you were making the machined canon mount for $2000 and a regular one for cheaper. Are there still plans for a cheaper option?
