Pardon me if the answer to this question is buried in some thread that my considerable diligence didn't uncover, but will the aluminum Canon mount also work on the Epic? In the store, only titanium Canon and PL mounts are listed as ala carte mounts, and on the Epic X (brain only) page, the only mount options listed are for those two titanium mounts. Is it possible to buy the aluminum Canon ala carte and use it with Epic?

Any piece for the Scarlet will work with the EPIC and vice versa. The reason why you can't buy a Aluminum Canon Mount "ala carte" is because RED wishes to fill all orders for the Scarlet/Al Canon mount first...

I'm using it to, manual focus is best, but it is working, aperture control also.

Really nice lens, I still have to do some tests to see how it does stopped down.

This is my favorite lens and I've got the Canon 16-35mm 2.8L.

It's sharp, but I am not at all a fan of the look. Sharpness isn't everything.

Thanks for the info, Joseph. I was virtually certain that the mounts were completely interchangeable, but I couldn't figure out why the aluminum mount wasn't listed as an option for Epic or why it wasn't available in the store for separate purchase.

Really? I think it has an amazing bokeh as well.

Thank You RED, I love Epic with Ti Canon Mount.

    Taken with a Canon 50mm f/1.4

Any body in Southern California and want to book this Model also, please let me know. She's great too.

Too busy, that bokeh, for my taste. Too frenetic. I also don't like how sharp areas fall off - it looks too different from cine lenses. We never shoulder-shoot anything except maybe 24 or 35 (and this for the rough look, deliberately shaky) so IS is of no interest. Other L lenses are much more appealing to me, but I'm not just after sharpness. To me all Ls are plenty sharp in 1080p which is the final output of 100% of our work.

Got our Scarlet with Ti Canon mount yesterday. I really love the build quality of the mount, and tested it with a few of our lenses. I was able to autofocus, confirm or work fully manual.

But I couldn't find out how to control focus with the REDmote. Shouldn't this be possible? How do I configure the wheel to control a lens?

    TIA
    Regards,

    Uli
