So what are the chances of having my Epic X w/canon mount by October 2nd?![]()
Is the mount transmitting bluetooth?
A 600mm lens on a 1.3 crop sensor plus a 2x Extender will give you 1560mm, now you need to see what the conversion is for the 2k which I believe it was the discussion there, either way was wrong... ;)
I may have missed the answer to this....BUT, is there any way to change IRIS physically....or only via touchscreen and redmote? IS there ANYWAY to build into the UP SOON Nikon Smart mount a physical Iris gear as on the current OPtiTek mount AND have the smart mount capability???? For some....shooting say in an underwater housing.....the need to have a physical gear for iris control is crucial.
I know some might hate me for saying this, but I am very happy to hear about this delay. It clearly states RED's understanding that this can be an other game-changer, that RED will not compromise at all. This is one of the accessories I am most excited about considering the possibilities and RED's price-point. I want one for our Epic! Of course the awesomeness needs to be shared with the smart mounts themselves. Much more than AF, what excites me is no-compromise wireless MANUAL focus! So few know what top-shelf still AF lens motors can do...
Side note: I wonder how long the battery will last on the Redmote Pro, and if the RMP might be designed with swappable batteries. Maybe they take a RedVolt!
Yes, i knew the L series is like the NIkon G lenses....and hoping that the NIKON smart mount by RED will have physical control over iris like the OptiTek EPIC Nikon mount currently does AND have electrical connections for lens data etc.....That's what i was getting at really....yes, i don't see a moving iris ring on the RED cannon smart mount. Would REALLY be a double winner in my opinion to have that on the upcoming Nikon smart mount.
