The machine I use is the Haas TM2P. Its a very capable machine, and allot of fun.
How much does one of those set you back?

The reason I wanted to make this mount is because when running our Steady Cam I found that the focus puller needed to be mobile with the camera. Having the lcd monitor mounted on the steady rig just wasn't practical for us. So I thought that having the monitor hard mounted to the controller itself would be ideal. The great thing about the Red monitor is the video signal and power both are supplied to the unit with just the one cable. We have a 10" cable that works perfect. I just walk along side the camera and focus from there. It works really well. The fact I'm tethered to the camera doesn't bother me at all.
I hadn't thought of the steadicam possibilities. Makes sense.

I think the next thing I'll fabricate is a cable clamp that mounts to the camera itself so just incase the cable gets hung up somewhere it will pull at the clamp and not the sensitive redone Lemo plug.
    Also a great idea!

    Good stuff Trevor!

Thank's Alexander :) With tooling they can run about 60k. But there are allot of other great machines that cast allot less. My first machine was a Tormach. They cost around 7k, and are fantastic. They can almost do as much as the Haas but takes longer is all. :)

    Hey gang,

Just thought I would share some pics of the gear all hooked up. It's perfect with a 10' cable.

Sorry for the crappy phone photo quality. :)

Those Tree machines are quite the beast! What kind of work do you do with it? Yes I do own my Haas. Got it new a few months ago. I keep it at home in my garage, its quite big. I actually had to punch a hole in the roof just so the vertical stock, and cable carrier could extend all the way.
