Hey guys, I love my DP6 for judging critical focus but kinda a pain having to always cycle through my Canon battery packs to use them. Is there a better solution out there? D-Tap? AUX cable? Forgive me if this question is stupid simple. Just trying to look for a solution that doesn't fry my Red. Thanks!

I have used dtap to power my DP6. But lately I have just gone with two small canon batteries on the back. I get about 6 hours runtime per pair of batteries. The beauty is one less cable to wrangle and it's still a very lightweight system, and I get longer runtimes for the camera battery.

That's interesting. I only get 2 hours of run time with 2 fresh batteries. I wonder if it's a firmware or hardware thing...

Wow, 2 hours seems really short Rick. Perhaps your batteries are getting old and losing capacity? I'm on the latest firmware version. 4 hrs would be a minimum runtime for me. 6 hrs max.

Yep Rick, something is not right.

I generally prefer to run my DP6 off the Dtap, but I generally get about five hours when using the Sony's.

It will depend on the battery's rated mili-Amp-Hours and the quality of the battery. It is not firmware related. Please contact support if you have any questions.
