Thanks for the update! For what it's worth: I'll be using Canon glass almost exclusively on my EPIC-X...it would be great to buy only the Canon mount instead both a PL + the Canon mount.

Sign me in. Especially when the price of the mount is $2000.

Yes, I'm also going to use exclusively Canon lenses...I also subscribe to the dumb grip option!

Jim: "5. Stage 3 will reflect similar changes to the package as Stage 2. Stage 3 package price is $28,000 less $17,500 and trade in your non-executed RED ONE. Net due is $10,500."

Stage 3 is a package and exempt from the EPIC-X brain only increase on Jan 1.

No. That was a deposit specific for Stage 2 and will be applied to your Stage 2 balance due when your Stage 2 package is ready.

I'm curious about this among other things, and any info would be greatly appreciated. While it's awesome to know the price changes so far in advance to prepare accordingly, details on the other products will definitely help customers such as myself make a decision, the kind who are on the fence between Scarlet and Epic. If I were to choose Epic, I would definitely want to put my deposit and order down before year end, especially if there is going to be a similar price jump on the Scarlets and Epic-S in the same timeframe. It isn't RED's responsibility to let the consumer know everything and to give warning, just to put out a product, so it's nice to see such disclosure about future price changes. But if we could get the same info on the other products ahead of time as well, that would be icing on the cake. I know there has been no definitive price released for the Scarlets despite everyones speculation and proposed ranges, but just a confirmation of a percentage of a price increase would help immensely, or to know if the EPIC is fronting all the extra production cost to keep the Scarlets around the same pricing.

Not expecting the latter scenario, just thinking of the possibilities...

I hear you man. The dream is over.

Going from Scarlet S35 at 7,500 to EPIC-S at 17K+ or whatever it will cost is pretty radical.

My hopes lies now with Canon releasing some RAW 1080p camera that has full control of their still lenses.

    Not holding my breath, though.

I don't know if there's any reason to assume the Epic-S will be any higher in price than the $12-13K rumor floating around. The price for EPIC-X has never changed since it's original announcement a long time ago. Frankly, it's no surprise that price has increased to $35,000 from $28,000 given the changes we've seen over that time period.

The Epic-S price change, nearly doubled from the original announcement, reflects the very recent rumors of rising costs, increased features and spec changes. All of these things made the original $7500 price spec unrealistic and that price change was warranted.

I think we'll see the Scarlet-F (kit) at $7500 and the Epic-S (body) at $13000, my speculation of course.
