We are excited to announce that OCEAN PLANET 3D will have the first Deep Atom in Australia once the first production run is complete by Gates. If anyone is interested here is our new website.
    http://www.oceanplanet3d.com
I have had collaborative input to the design of Deep Atom along with the Gates design team with specific applications for the Australian film and television industry.
We intend to use closed circuit rebreathers to maximise underwater shooting productivity and allow our operators to go into stealth mode whilst filming sound and vibration sensitive marine animals. John Ellerbrock and the entire design team have done an extraordinary job with Deep Atom and we look forward to using it in the field and studio locations.

    Regards

    Congrats Ross!!

As you might know Evergreen has Serial 1 and 2, and we are proud to have number 3 + 2 more, hopefully in time for some shooting in the warm sea water of Italy before next Autumn... ;)

But I know our Deep Epic might get here earlier, hopefully in time for some Summer fun... ;)

    He he in deed... ;)

Collaborate for sure, beautiful Italian coasts, matched with footage form the one and only down under reefs, no question we will shoot together,
also because we might not have all our rigs ready in time for our First 3D Underwater DocuFilm project, so we'll keep in touch... ;)

    Big congrats Ross!

Looking forward to some amazing stuff.

The lights on Ketch's 3D rig above are Gates new LED VL24's. Had the chance to use them on a Great Barrier Reef shoot last month, courtesy of John Ellerbrock, with some astonishing results. Will be posting a link to some video of these lights in action shortly, and a detailed report of all the ins, outs, do's and don'ts. Mostly do's though, I'm ordering a set of them along with my deep Epic, as soon as my Epic is delivered.

BTW Ross, next time I'm out your way, yer the man, looking forward to a personally guided tour of the best that underwater Oz can offer.

Ketch, spent three years in Rome, your country is so much fun, it should be illegal!

    Hey Tom
Thanks for the positive energy. I think anything that John Ellerbrock comes up with is superb. I will most likely order the new gates lights as well. I look forward to doing some dives with you.

    cheers

Sorry, I was more interested in focal range rather than brand. What is the maximum angle of view you can use on Deep Atom?
