    Hey,

So i made sure to do do extensive searching on this forum but can't seem to find the "besT" suitable solution.

    Problem 1: FCP VS Premiere

Recently got my redMX, and while Premiere CS5 works natively with R3d files, and renders realtime.... I DON'T HAVE THE MASSIVE AMOUNT OF FCP PLUGINS and TRANSITIONS I'VE ACCUMULATED OVER THE YEARS.

    Problem 2:

With Final Cut 7 Log and Transfer, I now have ProRes 4444 footage of 2k and 3k resolution. Changing sequence settings to match one, leaves the other one needing rendering. I am editing a music video with a lot of fast cuts, and flashy effects etc. What can I do??

I have Quad Core , 2.8ghz, with 16gb Ram. What's the best workflow I should be looking into??

    Thanks in advance.

We need to think it through from the other end: what is you final deliverable? Without knowing that, I can't give you advice on the most convenient workflow.

I would suggest rendering your ProRes out of RedCine-X or similar at whatever your final delivery resolution is. That way you're not working with mixed-resolution footage and dealing with render issues.

I second this. Color and FCP can be quite tricky with 3K – until now.
