What's the highest redcode that can be captured on CFs equivalent to? 10:1? I'd think anything higher than that would be gravy for most S users as it's probably the most accessible format for first time users... That is to say, it's essentially included in the $12-13k price.

Conversely, I think a lot of S users are going to opt for a Canon mount since the glass is much easier/cheaper to come by... plus point-to-point, auto-racking auto-focus... but I digress.

Jim, you are insane. 60fps 5k?! Mahhaha.... that is too much! :) But I'll gladly take it!! Thanks!

What would be included in the 12-13k estimated price aside from the body?

Very glad to see an Epic-S update.

I think the projected price of this thing is awesome. Much higher price/performance ratio than other motion cameras in its price range PLUS it replaces my still camera! What a freakin' deal!

When can we expect final specs & pricing?

I was going to use all Canon L glass, but I am turned off by the pink/warmish tint from Canon glass

I'm going with a set of Zeiss ZF.2s to start with.

I'm pretty sure that's just the brain Roberto. Like you said, 5k at 60fps is amazing at any price - but $12-13k is unreal and puts it
in the same range as the Sony F3 (brain). Hmmm - 5k at 60fps or 1080p at 60fps ... which one will I choose???? ;)

Both! We'll likely rent one of each. 60fps 5k means you can shoot up to about 30fps HDRx on Epic-S. Great place to be.

I think the biggie and pretty much the only thing to consider when buying is upgrade-ability. Sure, slow motion factors in a great deal for certain people, but Epic-S will be an insane beast of a machine! And sure, some clueless people will frown upon the lesser Epic without really knowing what they are talking about, but with specs like this, they are bound to be VERY few and far between. You can do anything you want with an Epic-S! Just make sure you ROI and save up for the next before Dragon hits the road, and you are good to go.

I just hope that technology doesn't move too fast and 8K becomes the standard too soon.

Ideally, I would be nice if the EPIC-S could last at least 5 years as a modern camera.

Looking at the speed in which the other guys are moving, I'd say it will.

Hey Roberto - when I said "5k at 60 fps or 1080p at 60fps" - I was referring to the difference between Epic-S and Sony F3 ... considering they will be about the same price for the brain. It was rhetorical (albeit unclear) ... :)
