If you are comparing the field of view of S35 or APS-C sized DSLR sensors(which are roughly the same size) to Full-frame 35mm stills format, then the equivalent FOV on Full-frame stills would be somewhere around 16-24 through 18-26mm( I haven't done the actual math) depending on the dimensions of the specific sensor you are making the comparison to. But the focal length doesn't change whether it's on super8 or 4x5 film. It's always an 11-16mm lens. The format just dictates how much of that image we are able to see or how much is cropped(well, that and the size of the image circle on a given lens).
But if you are comparing it to a S35mm motion picture camera, the FOV will be roughly the same. So, compared to say the 18-50mm RED zoom, it will be quite a bit wider.
