First, off let me add my congratulations to the surfeit already here.

I was wondering why Cameron hadn't bought some yet.

I wonder now what tipped the scales for him. I'm completely prepared to believe that he was focused on the Arri Alexa and Alexa-M during the NAB timeframe. Now, he buys 50 Epic M cameras.

That's a big commitment- and I'd love to peek into that decision process.

Great news, the more big names associated with Epic the more dominant its market share will be, it´s pretty obivious it will be even larger than what the RED ONE was(is). The competition will bleed when Epics start to saturate the market!
Now we need those Epic-X´s to start shipping, so us mere mortals can join the fun ;-)

As generous as RED is, I can see how some can be fooled for a second or two. But I have to break it to you. RED is actually not a charity organization.

RED has also made it clear that they have found out who they are. They are not the company who wishes to sell a cheap HD camera to the masses, as you have for so long been clamoring for. They instead, are a CINEMA grade company, who have the ability to make products which are not only sought after by the top tier of filmmakers for their QUALITY, but also down to the filmmakers who are in their season of formation and are looking for AFFORDABILITY.

(Hopefully I don't come across as being harsh, but rather one who is making a few points that desperately need to be addressed)
I was talking as an early RED ONE reservation owner and if RED suddenly changed there is no need for any sort of bitterness and also to advocate something more about that step.

Also to clear that I did't talk about any sort of charity but just only about a business.

Ok, very nice move. Great to see the greatest on earth shooting on the most perfect camera system,

but this means all epic-m's are gone, and everybody has to wait until production epics?

Hmm... I wonder where that leaves the Alexa M - is/was he just testing multiple options?
When he uses EPIC cameras, will that mean we will see movies released in 48/60p AND 4K?
