  1. #1 options on Ubuntu
Could someone give me some advice please on how to go about editing redone footage on Ubuntu?

I have 75 GB's of footage 4k and no way to even view it, I would like to convert it probably first to 1080p resolution and some format I can use with the video editing apps available on Ubuntu, how to do that, can anyone advise please?

If getting a Smoke is out of the question you could use wine + RED's redline to render frames and take it from there.

Autodesk Smoke. Try the wine/redline route, though. It kind of works.

also, i would expect storm to be released soon for linux

besides smoke or using wine... you may just want to run w7 or osx if possible

it sounds like the short term fix is to either use wine and redcine-x or run it through redcine-x or any other supported app on a windows or osx machine

also, if you happen to have nuke, that will read your r3ds.
