I'd be very interested to see a 4k preview, can't wait to see what you can do with this camera Tom, it sure is in good hands =]
Actually if you are on a Mac you may not want CUDA GPU acceleration - as the new amazing Mac Laptops dont have Nvida cards and hence Premier CUDA acceleration would not work. As these laptops and their Thunderbolt I/O will be perfect for field work with the EPIC... you would be better requesting GPU acceleration using Open CL support
Mike
Great news Tom. Hope you bring some samples to NAB. I opted for the Signature too.
quick story.. yesterday my stepson sent me a e-mail asking "are you capable of doing something like this?". Attached was a link to Timescapes by Tom Lowe. I told him probably not but I sure know the guy who could. Your hard work and vision are becoming the stuff of legend. Congratulations on the Epic.
Ha, thanks, Frank.
Here's a quick framegrab from our shoot this morning. Loving this camera... loving it!
Tom... how much of the time are you shooting 96fps (or 120fps)?
Jim
Haha, 100%!
I think I just need to get it out of my system.
Like I was telling David Mullen, the first time you see the combination of 5K res with 96fps, it's startling. Our eyes might be used to seeing 5K-type resolution (from IMAX films or 65mm 5-perf like "Baraka"), but we are not accustomed to seeing 65mm quality with 100 frames per second. It's something new, at least to my eyes.
Thanks Mike, crossing my fingers that you'll get to cover CL developments in The RC.
Tom, is that HDRx?
Tom and Jannard, does Tom's Epic have 120fps enabled?
Jannard, does the team know what will be the max framerate for HDRx?
My Epic has 120 enabled, but I'm shooting for 16:9 aspect on my film.
