Went searching through this thread, I'm sorry if I missed the post:
I've heard the Canon EF and Nikon mounts will be shipped with EPIC. Is this true, and if it isn't, has RED have a detailed price point for each mount?
Thank you in advance.

What's the best Mac software for checksums and file management on set?
Theoretical question: What is the maximum number of frames per second that the EPIC could do (with lower resolution). Could you do something like a windowed 640x480 read-out and thus have more fps? Graeme? :)
Hi Brook,
I was interested in knowing from youre experience a couple of things:
1. how does the sync work at 48 fps?, if you are using and external sync generator or internal?, and the same for he timecode.
2. How is the depth of focus of the EPIC working with 3D, An example of something that i donīt like (just my personal opinion, not saying is wrong) is the shallow deepth of field of THor 3D ( i kind of get the feeling that was shot thinking more in the 2D copy than in 3D copy, just a guess maybe is just how they like 3D).
3. What monitors are you using to monitirize 48 fps 3D?
4. What systm are you using for downloading from the SSD?
Thanks in advance for youre answers and hope dnīt make you loose too much time.
We're shooting 24FPS on Spider-Man, so any 48 we shoot is overcranking. That said, we are syncing externally with good 'ol Ambient Lockit boxes.
Depth of focus and depth of field behave as you'd expect on the Epic... it's all just mathematics. The creative decisions regarding how much depth of field to employ on this film are above my pay grade. :)
Since we are not monitoring 48-for-48, my answer may not apply to your question. That said, I'm not actually able to answer that question specifically just yet. We have 5 3D monitors on set of various sizes and models.
Data is handled by my lovable and fearless DIT Data Technicians Steve Freebairn and Zach Hilton of Freehill Productions. There's a lot to say about our workflow and I'm not sure how much I'm able to reveal at this time, but suffice it to say that we are using a handful of Apple Mac Pro towers will all sorts of go-fast bits inside to crunch through the data. It's a pretty awesome workflow and it definitely deserves a better post than this. I'll write an article on our workflow when it's more appropriate.
Can you turn the EVF to show B/W while keeping all other monitor out's in
color? Just wondering if it's doable with Epic.
is there any side by side comparison between R1 MX and Epic-M at 4K?
