Correct. This does not include checksums which are absolutely critical.

    2) I know there is an option to actually dial in your shutter but couldn't find it. I was only able to find the presets. What do I clicko n to get the dial in menu.
    3) Do you need to restart to get the title and action safe lines to show up? I turned them on, but they didn't show. Restarted and changed to a r1 7" and they showed up.
1: Yes, relative shutter works. That's the mode I've left all my cameras in.

2: Using the touch screen, tap and hold on the shutter angle instead of just tapping. The same applies to color temperature and a few other features. When using the REDmote, to accomplish the same task you would push "up" instead of "select".

3: That is unusual, you do not need to restart for frame lines to take effect.

Beware of that. People will quickly start to look at them with less technical respect in the wrong situations. "We shoot to chocolate bars! Hyuck!" can sometimes have a negative impact on taking the camera system, its needs and the responsibilities of the parties operating it seriously.

Don't mean to be the buzz kill, I've just seen reactions run the gamut. :)

Thought as much. Had my hopes up. Have you got a rough time with checksums? Would be useful for planning future work.

Heh my 1st day safety drill talk generally seems to instill enough fear of capture related equipment on set =) Fully aside, I refer to cable runs as my spaghetti runs and have heard people remark to late comers to set not to touch my spaghetti and get the weirdest reactions.

Too many variables to give you a useful estimate on how long checksumming will take.

Iv'e seen the question asked "Does the rocket transcode Epic footage in real time" but Iv'e not seen a definitive answer? Will you need a more powerful rocket to transcode in real time? How painful is transcoding without a Rocket on the Epic. My workflow available options are Final cut and Avid ( no rocket yet)

It's either realtime or very close to it - we've never needed to check. If it is different than the R1, it's not by enough to matter.

Thanks Brook. Does it tell you when the relative is active? R1 turned it yellow, but this stayed white. Just trust it's working? Obviously seeing the change in the monitor is a good indication, no change means it's working, different looking image means it isn't.

The setting being turned to "relative" is what tells you that relative mode is on.

Has anyone posted any 250 fps clips? Not even sure if that feature is been enabled. Thanks for all the info!
