I'm not sure how I feel about "Complete redesign of the user interface". Every time Apple's done that recently to other software it's gotten stupider. More "consumer friendly".

We'll see how it goes, though.

Heres hoping that they've added enough features and improvements to warrant a new version. 7 was a bit of a disappointment

I would be very happy to see a LOT of Motion integrated into FCP, but keep Motion as a stand alone application. Just give me a 3D camera in FCP and 64bit with better GPU optimization and I'll be a happy camper. Wait Cinema Tools integration is also a MUST. Multi-Room Color grading would be nice also. You know what... just take Smoke for Mac, give it a more "Apple" UI and sell it for $1500. :-)

I've been doing a lot of complex comps in Motion and I'm falling in love with this little compositor. It certainly isn't NUKE, but for quick comps and fluid motion graphics it shines. I hope it will stay as a stand alone app.

SoundTrack Pro (32bit) is next to useless with large arrangements and large multi-track projects synced to picture. I was trying to mix to picture a feature project (200 min) and it literally took 5 minutes to open the project, a single cpu core chugging along. I love the ADR multi-take options but they could be much improved.

I have to admit, if Color is fully integrated into FCP and Color the App disappears, I would not miss it at all...

    My .02 cents...

They did a lot good with the redesign of Logic when they took over.

With you 100% Mathieu, Logic has reached an awesome plateau under Apple. Lets hope they still have some of that magic dust for FCP.

I'm totally in line. "New interface" scares me a little bit as a guy who doesn't want to learn a new interface. However, Logic was redesigned very nicely. Definitely a make or break moment for Final Cut though. If it is too alien or doesn't win over early adopters, I could see Premiere finally having a shot. But, I actually have faith. They've worked on it a long time and don't seem in a rush to get it out until it's ready.
