    Thanks Jim.

Then we are all waiting for that...

Also would be nice to have some HDRx™™ enabled R3D with a motion that we can see more about possible shutter speed motion blur issues...

Maybe that sort of antique Balinese marionette doll can make some movements and motions...

Wow is this fun, though I would have to get down some kind of work flow because I could blow hours tweaking the settings with this. Lots of fun and lots of potential, thanks for putting this up John it is most appreciated.

here is a very rough try...

Thanks again John for this, and as always Jim, Jarred, Greame, Stuart and all the hardworking folks over at RED thank you for this.

    have a good one.

John, thank you for sharing the HDR clip, its really cool to play with in RCX. Once 3rd party finishing apps support this, it should be very powerful to apply the blend in a power window / scaffold vs. the entire frame.

    Perhaps it's a win32 thing.
The HDRx option appears to only exposed in the Mac version of 416. I just tried both the Win64 and Mac64. The Win version alternates between the two exposures as you step through the clip, so you can see what the two frames look like.

I'd like to second this and ask a favor. Please don't post anything using the rudimentary blending feature currently in build 416ER. It doesn't represent either the Epic or Redcine-X in an appropriate light. Some one will end up pixel peeping a low-res jpeg and pontificating on the technology. Not fair to show the results of a quick-and-dirty blend -- the magic of HDRx is going to come with a much more sophisticated approach that's coming down the line soon. Can't wait to see it!

Thanks for sharing, this is fantastic to see both exposures in one R3D...I assume HDRx™ slider/magic button is not in the current beta 416 yet and we are waiting patiently correct? :)

The remedial version is in 416... instructions how to use it were posted on page 1.

It was my Macbook Pro at fault after all. My MacPro have no difficulties exporting DPX.

I'm going to break the "don't post" rule... because I can. Even with the remedial HDRx tools in RCX 416 you can see what HDRx is capable of. This isn't intended to be a final grade, just to showcase the power of HDRx that you have now.

    Nice one Jim,

will be definitely giving a good shot at 416 with Manual HDRx™™, once we finish up shooting Salton Sea and Joshua Tree with Tom ;)

Definitely it can work for a sort of still motion shots but I have doubts about a real motion shots (even a sort of "Magic Motion" is applied after)

just because you can't effectively "reconstruct" lost motion image parts even using today's best algorithms available.

Btw, I'm just experimenting about it using another camera and today all available motion blur plug ins...

My idea is to split HDRx in two variants/options:

    1. HDRx using shutter speed that is sometimes with limited results according to motion blur artifacts...

    2. HDRx using high ISO speed that can be always limited with high ISO noise floor of the sensor

BUT WILL DEFINITELY OFFER NO ANY MOTION BLUR ARTIFACTS AT ALL

that it should be based Epic MX sensor "deeper" noise floor than R1MX thanks to its higher resolution.

More about the exposure triangle understanding @ www.cambridgeincolour.com>>>

Also all is about that I wouldn't be happy to hear tomorrow that Epic HDRx is just limited to use for a certain sort of shots...
