Just got my email to start the shipping process....#4163
So #574 (delivered mid Apr. 2008) arrived at RED on Jan 27th, I got the evaluation email on Feb 2nd and it arrived today! Stage 3 is the best deal in the history of the universe.
Is anyone reluctant to send a working red one back in exchange for an epic thats not complete because parts are on back order and wont ship ready to shoot? Or are the Epic stage 3 shipped ready to shoot?
we just receive the email yesterday february 9. the red has been giving back by going directly to LA RED today. hope ill receive it during my trip to hawaii.

Of course, I was! But what can you do when your number comes up? I held off returning R1 #348 for almost three weeks because of an impending assignment this past week. But, as soon as the gig was over, we packed up the R1 and it should be arriving at RED today. If I had gone ahead with the Epic as soon as I could have, I almost certainly would have been caught with my pants down for this week's shoot with regard to accessories. But I didn't want to hold off any longer than a month and get pushed to into the next Stage 3 flight of cameras, so my fingers are crossed that, by the time the R1 is checked out and the Epic-X is ready to ship, we will at least have a touch LCD ready to ship with the Epic-X. I ordered a DSMC Side Handle on November 4, so, hopefully, that will see the light of day soon. If it doesn't, then, for the time being, we will be limited to being tethered to an AC cord, since the quad redvolt module has yet to ship. Given shipping status of other third-party and RED power options are back ordered, I think the only other option at present is a 2B-to-1B power cord attached to our RED Cradle to make use of our RED and other third-party bricks.
