you are assuming that everyone ordered, then paid for and took delivery of their Red One promptly. I am sure that when an order and/or deposit was initially accepted the 'next' serial number would have been allocated. Then for whatever reason those orders did not actually happen. When that was certain those serial numbers would have been reallocated. So someone could end up with a much earlier serial number than others delivered at the a similar time. I'm sure delivery date is the deciding factor for everyone and we will be dealt with fairly and in turn - that's the Red way.... no need to get stressed out :-)

Sorry, if others with earlier numbers are not getting theirs quite as quick, My eval went smooth, my rep was on top of things and my camera was already paid for, several months ago actually, plus there was zero delay on my original R1, so the transaction went really fast in my case, I'm sure i chopped out a few days in there. I hate waiting so I do what I can to expedite things. Here's hoping the touch screens are coming soon.

I just got my FedEx email at 3am this morning. Epic is on the way. In my allocation email that I got last week, I was told the LCD, Side Handle and Remote are on backorder. So I will have to wait for one of them to get here before I boot my new baby up. From Jarred's recent post in the BackOrder Status thread, it shouldn't be too long before one or all arrive soon. Not sure, but just rechecked my FedEx email and it says package is 16 lbs. I may have gotten lucky and have an LCD tucked in there somewhere. Fingers crossed. My Red One was #855.

Got back a totally unsuspected $550 evaluation results.

Replacement of low pass filter $120 + cable $30 + plus 4 hours service job $400... ouch. Those filters do take some time to replace...

Anyway, happy to know that my Epic is closer than ever. And hope for the rest of prospective owners that things seems to start moving faster. My Red got at their facility on Monday morning and I have already got the quote.

Now send me the Epic! :-)

Got my evaluation results today as well, and unfortunately mine was even worse than that. Our camera wasn't even used all that often, only a few hours every month, but we did rent it out a handful of times each year and I think renters are almost always harsh on gear.

In the end, its still an extremely fair price to pay for the upgrade, so no complaints from me.
