  1. #1 (BUG) - DPX export in Beta8
Exporting a 10bit DPX sequence in Beta8 I end up with garbage frames (snow) with no usable frames.

    Anyone else experience this?

    Hi
I also experienced the same, but checking "fill" in the dpx setup window seemed to do the trick. Does anyone know what "fill" means? Checking and unchecking this button makes the dialog box change between "packed" and "filled".

Hi guys, I'm seeing some odd behaviour here too. Which resolution are you exporting as?

    thanks,
    Dan

Thanks guys. Can you send some screenshots of what you are seeing through to the beta list? I'm seeing the wrong colourspace being used which we will get fixed for next release but nothing that resembles 'snow'.

    thanks,
    Dan

    Hi Theodor,
It's to do with Byte packing. Which application are you loading the DPX file(s) into?

    thanks,
    Dan

without FILL selected the DPX files are "snow" when loaded into SMOKE.
I haven't tested AE or Shake

Hi Rory, I've had confirmation that the files that we export, with and without Fill selected, load into Baselight okay. If you could try a couple of other apps that would be great. That should confirm whether it's on the Autodesk side or not.

[edit]: We've tried it in Adobe Bridge here and it doesn't work with Fill. We are going to rejig the gui so that defaults to 'Fill' in the future though. It's just that some other apps may not support both methods.

    thanks,
    Dan

By "Fill" do you mean 30 bits of image data in 32bits of file data per pixel?

I don't support packed bits for 10bpc now (only 16bpc to be released soon).

Do you have a URL with sample files I can download for compatibility testing (10bpc and 16bpc bigendian and littleendian, packed and fill for 10bpc)?
