    Ciao Paul,
the 5500 I do not know, I've never tried.
The cards gtx 460 or 470 or 480 are the regular PC card not "flashed" MAC.

    thanks you

How does the Mac 5500 work? Out of Box? Or are there drivers needed?

I wouldn't flash it to a Mac version just yet, it may not behave well on Windows and Linux OS.

    @Alex
Not sure if your 5500 question was for me or Luigi. But the fx5500 that I have is for PC.

    @Luigi
    Question about performance.
What is your average render speed (fps) for HD/2K material (DPX material only, not R3D or other compressed formats) when reading and writing from/to the same raid volume?

    Thanks!

Yeah, I was just curious how a 5500 works on a real Mac. Whatever steps you need on a real mac are mostly the same. You should only have to Install appropriate mac driver(if any), then add gfx string to bootloader in the com.apple.boot.plist. Just check that Quartz Extreme and Core Image are enabled.

    Ciao Paul,

for R3D 4/4.5k to 1920x1080 half resolution is about 15 fps
" to 1920x1080 full resolution is about 4/7 fps
    " " " Quarter " is real time
For DPX 4/4.5k to 1920x 1080 full/half/quarter/ resolution my system is 5/6 fps to render
my raid is raid0 with internal sata ,4 drive speed about 320 mb/s

Attention Paul more video card not help in render R3D , in this case help you only more CPU and Red rocket card.See post ALEX or JEFF or ANDRAE or DAVID , cuda help you only for grading color more nodes .
If you render R3D in Full resolution only solution is redrocket or buy MACPRO 24 core for half resolution in real time.

    thanks
    Luigi

  8. #68 I can not install any distro...
    Hello.

    I have a MOBO P6T7 WAS Supercomputer
    i7 975 Extreme
    12 GB DDR3
    QuadroFX 4800
    etc., etc. ...

But I can not install any distro.

When I try to install, appears a second white screen with apple and then restart the computer ...

    I need modified bios?

    Thanks.

Hi David, what card are you using for your GUI in resolve? I assume the 3-way SLI are all for processing?

I am starting a build and originally bought 3 460's as per the guide, but come to find out they ARE NOT compatible with 3-way SLI, ONLY 2-way SLI.

So i am returning to newEgg, and getting the 470's instead.

But i am now curious how everyone is running their gui monitor, and which cards they are using for that.

    thanks,

    noto

Unfortunately, after the BIOS screen, all I see is a blinking underline.

    My setup (from CPU downwards)

    1 - empty
    2 - empty
    3 - GTX480
    4 - Decklink 3D+
    5 - GTX480
    6 - Areca RAID 1880-i (8 port sata)
    7 - GTX480

I can't really change this setup, since all 3 GPUs are connected over a watercooling bridge which I don't really want to take out since it took me already years to make it work.
And the other cards are under that bridge (Aquacomputer Twinconnect). Does someone know where the error might be? Or how to integrate drivers into the OSX installer?

    There's an other walkthrough (http://aquamac.proboards.com/index.c...ay&thread=1062) but it's configured for 2x GTX285.
I got the files for 3x GTX480 (http://aquamac.proboards.com/index.c...lay&thread=509) and installed them into the com.apple.boot.plist on the OSX install (the hard drive, not the 1GB USB bootloader).
    But without success.

Does someone know if I can first install to a normal drive and then (if it finally works) somehow clone the install to the RAID?
