I liked these lenses more than I wanted to. I had less than an hour with them and BOND as he had to get on a flight overseas - so - I could not really shoot a proper lens test - but I will try to get them back tomorrow and test on MX and look at qualities like flares, etc.

On the lens projector they are crazy sharp - no fall off in the 5K image area.

They are heavier than Ultra Primes - but - way smaller and lighter than Masters.

Mechanics and markings are just amazing.

    More soon -

I've been drooling over those Leica C's since NAB last year. Some day they will be mine, oh yes, they will be mine...

...Just realized that this put me at 10K posts. I'm going to go take a shower.

went to band pro to check them out yesterday. missed mark and bond by a solid hour, made me sad :(

the lenses are everything they promised and more though. it's the "epic" of cinema lenses. they have to make a new resolution chart to really see how sharp they are...

Haha, maybe you got a little too excited over reaching ten thousand posts!

Just kidding, but I do have to say I've always found your posts very informative, thanks for all the time spent.

  8. #48 Milan update
Just received this email from Alonso - our DIT who is in Milan, Italy for an EPIC shoot for a major designer during Fashion Week.

Another good day in Milan. Things are working perfectly. The Epic is safe and working like a charm. We love it.

AJ and I are getting out here tonight to shoot some extra stuff for you Mark, we'll send you an .R3D like in 5 hours.

Hope everybody is smiling over there in NY.

AJ and I are getting cozier with the client. They want to potentially shoot some 3D for <DELETED-NDA CLIENT>, and we are all over that.

    Hugs!!!

    Alonso.

Mark, please post a 5k frame with the 21mm if you are so kind. I think we'll find Leicas are better suited for Epic 5k than MPs, at the very least in terms of resolving power. Can't wait to see if I am right. Can't wait to see how they look on M-X 5k!

    Pretty please?

What lenses in the Leica range are actually working and not prototypes being shown off?

    Also, I second Roberto's request.
