It looks unreal I know, but some people are commenting on characteristics of a scaled down image (detail, noiseless), rather than anything specific to RED's image quality.

Hehe, I just woke up here in England. Decided to check Recon, and this lion pops up, so I'm like: Ah, another image from Epic, and then I read "Scarlet 8x" and I'm like: HOLY SHIT!!!

The still yes. But I guess most of us went straight for the video clip, and that's what being commented most.

The video clip is shot on Epic with a pixel count LESS than 3% of original size.

The Epic clip DOES look cool for what it is, but I guess we just have to keep waiting for 8x Fixed.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that people waiting for Epic and people waiting for Scarlet are two different groups of customers (not counting those what will buy both cameras).

This time around it was the 8x Fixed groups' turn at a clip. I am surprised that Jarred chose an Epic clip, but he did say he will post native files from Scarlet as well. Hopefully it will be a few seconds of motion. That way we can evaluate computer performance too.

    Really looking forward to it!

from my wife tonight: "working late again tonight honey?" ...

I'm lucky to have a patient wife :-) She actually likes when I'm jazzed about what I do.

Clearly you and Jim are also so blessed.

    Life is good,

    Steve
