Been out of touch for a while and I just read this. I'm so sorry to hear this Mark.
I'm sure the guys who stole it took it home, thought "what the fuck is this kind of camera?", googled it, then went "OH SHIT", and threw it in the deepest lake they could find. I doubt it will ever be seen again.
N.
I've always thought this was a well-planned job by professionals that knew what they were targeting.

Nar check out the report that Mark posted. The details are totally inconsistent with pros targeting this equipment.
I mean....
They like robbed his aunt's purse or something...
No way I'd be staying to pilfer Mark's grandma's pennies if I was there specifically to grab the world's first open market Epic.
If you are trying to throw off the authorities, you do stop to pilfer a purse.
Do you really think amateurs could pull of this heist? Maybe if they were extremely lucky. I think these people made their own luck.
Add to that the fact that this camera was documented on the web as to where it would be and in what timeframe. I think there was even a picture of the resort.
I still think this was a planned theft. Doesn't really matter. The camera is gone.
Speaking of thefts, was there ever a resolution to the break in at red HQ a few years back? It seems like Red has a loyal following a crooks as well as satisfied users.
What's a CHALET ? sounds like a Yugoslavian car.....i can see how that could happen.
CHALET = my bubble top chevy van illegally parked in Malibu.
I hope you're just being sarcastic, otherwise… wikipedia is your friend ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chalet
