why canon FD lens will be better in DOF comparession ?
The canon FD won't have a different DOF.

On a F-900 the expensive Sony lenses will be sharper and may display other lens characteristics that are superior.

On RED I think we'll see still lenses perform very well in picture quality. The real issue will be how easy they are to focus and how much play is in their focusing mechanism. My experience is some SLR lenses are very good, no breathing and very smooth focusing and other SLR lenses are horrible.

You have your terms inverted you state "...why we can not see too much DOF in video cameras...", this is a common misunderstanding. Shallow DOF (depth of filed) is the quantity that most people are seeking. It is actually that there is too much DOF for most peoples taste in these cameras.

The reason is very simple. The F900 has a 2/3" imager, the RED ONE has a S35 sized imager. For the same FOV (field of view) the larger imager requires a longer lens. A longer lens at the same aperture has a shallower DOF. In this example, it has nothing to do with the lens, rather, it has everything to do with the size of the imager and the focal length of the lens required to have the same FOV.

Honestly i did 'n t use F900 but my friends tried to much with it to get some DOF Shallow but its not very clear and no isolation happend between Background and Forground like i did with my SONY HVR Z1 AND REDROCK 35MM adapter with canon fd lenses its too much difference between them.

Your REDROCK adapter projects the taking lenses output to an area that is nearly the equivalent of a S35 imager, so its behavior (at least in terms of the relationship between FOV and DOF) is similar to a camera with a S35 imager. The F900, used without an adapter will behave just like any other 2/3" camera in this regard.

You must not have been thinking much when you typed this DOF goofiness. Just because a still lens is a still lens, DOF is not going to be an issue when compared to a 35mm cine lens. A 35mm still will have even less DOF than a 35mm cine lens (if shallow DOF is what you're after.)

I'm pretty sure a still lens will have exactly the same DOF and FOV on RED as a Cine lens does on RED. If you take that still lens and put it on a Full Frame SLR it'll have a wider FOV... but still the same DOF.

Thats what I suspected you meant. FYI Matt and I have already rented panavision equipment for a red camera shoot. The ability to rent from panavision and other rental companies has mostly to do with your relationship with them.
