I'm having a hell of a time finding a way to do convert ProRes4444 LOG footage to Linear color space in Apple Color.
It seems the built-in Log-to-Linear conversion in "Color" is reserved for DPX and Cineon files, as both have "Headers" which can be flagged as Logorithmic.
I'm hoping someone knows a way around this (besides just correcting with gamma/curves, which I've tested but is time consuming and not as clean as a real Log-Lin conversion).
The best thing I can think of is a Log-to-Linear Look Up Table (LUT), but I can't seem to find one that is Color Compatible (.mga) I know they exist, but where do I find such a LUT???
As far as advice goes, lets try to keep it within a Final-Cut / Color workflow, as I'm sure there are lots of applications and hardware packages that have solutions. If however, anyone knows of a software package that has a Log-Lin LUT included, let me know. The next question would be how to convert it into a .mga format for use in Color.
