Couldn't that be a potential loss, and therefore important to take into concideration?
While it is definitely a bad thing to lose customers, it is worse to sell cameras that don't make sense for our brand. We know that with only a couple of models it is just not possible to hit every feature combination and price point for everyone in the industry. We are OK with that for now.

Will this mean an earlier release, no longer waiting for Scarlet to come first?

Is the interchangeable 2/3" Scarlet still in the mix somewhere?

    ok, emotions aside:
    epic lite vs alexa
how many of you have the 55000 € for an Alexa?
and with 55 k € you are able to shoot ProRes, no ArriRaw.
to shoot ArriRaw you need another 30000€
    Thats fucking 85 000 €.
i forgot, in january you are able to buy the alexa +
to upgrade you only have to pay another 10000 usd

thats over 100 000 usd for another RAW camera besides the Red 1/Epic

i am not sure, but everything under 20000 usd or 15 000 € seems like a steal to me.

And Sony F3....go to the woods and try a wide shot and see how much this cam can do.
red is not a color, it's a camera.

Then they will sell you the better one 6 months later. So you just bought two cameras to get what you really wanted. But both were what you expected to pay so you don't complain. We just don't do it that way... not saying we do it right and they are wrong, just different.

Another thing that gets us into trouble is talking as we think here on reduser. It doesn't matter how many times we say "things are subject to change, count on it"... people remember the numbers and think they were "promised". The sour posts continually remind me to re-think our communication philosophy.

I wouldn't put too much stock in the whining at all. When the cameras hit the street in all of their glory yesterday's bitching will surely fade away, and those who can afford them will use them regardless of the bile spewed here. I will say however that the longer folks have the information the more real it becomes. I would work to limit the release of info to 6 months from release date, but I'm just an armchair CEO. ;-)

Stay true to the goal and deliver great competitively priced cameras and anyone who hasn't been banned, burned or otherwise mistreated will come back to you. Count on it.

The promises have been huge, the wait long and the gear is almost here. Everybody is wound taught. These are exciting times.

Thank you Jim and Red team.

Yeah, it must feel like being killed in WWII few days before the war ended...
