I'm interested to see what happens here...this could really change some plans.

I also have to vote in favor of Epic LT (or something else entirely) over Epic Light.

Darn, just when I was starting to think I might stretch my budget to get Scarlet S35 instead of 2/3"...

Oh well, probably wouldn't have really happened anyway...

Keep an Eye on the "Scarlet..." thread. I have a feeling that Jim has some more surprises in store that might make those who want a more affordable ~S35 sensor happy. Maybe not...but I don't think he'd leave the Scarlet line to 2/3" only.

There's nothing "light" about an Epic. Less mass? Sure. Faster? Definitely!

A stripped out Porshe 911 isn't a Porshe light, (read: neutered), its a Porshe GT3!

any whoo, it sounds too much like Epilady, the feminine depilitator...

And now you can get all if only you could afford it:

    - Titanium Epic - Handmade in USA

    - Set of Leica - C Summilux T1.4 Titanium Primes - Handmade in Germany.

This two things are really going to change this industry.

RED should keep longer "handmade/titanium" Epic as a special order.

With those two titanium based handmade elements this extraordinary and unique gear combo will become the ultimate 3D rig.

Ok please can anybody tell me why people are so excited about the S35 /Epic light announcement. Surely it just means a higher priced camera ?
Ok this may have been inevitable, but to be honest like Lee pointed out, it means those of us who scraped together the 7-10K necessary for the S35 camera and accessories are looking at a price increase.
I KNOW JIM NEVER MENTIONED PRICE INCREASE AND EVERYTHING IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE... but what other reason is there really ?

The one Caveat I would enter here is; IF the Epic Light comes as a complete Package like the Fixed Scarlet for aprox 12K then I will be happy, any more and I'm afraid the dream is over for me.

You may not like what I say but I believe it is a fair point and as a member of the forum have a right to comment.
