Okay (if everything goes over good with my CPA, it should) count me in as +1 for an EPIC-M...

How will the machined billet aluminum brain weight differ than regular cast aluminum?

I am happy for RED and thankful for RED all at the same time. Thank you. Now that the camera is finished, when can we expect an owners manual or some instructional videos? I'll be getting a Scarlet but I would welcome any chance to grok how to work the DSMC systems. Outside of being able to find my way around my own camera when I get it, I think it would be great if RED started to educate people about how to use this first of a kind camera system. Stills and Motion in one body alternately and/or at the same time is enough to get ones head around, but using a tool that is made for that is completely foreign to every one except, well except RED.

    Thanks again.

A historical day. Thanks Giving indeed.

Wish I could justify the cost of joining the EPIC M vanguard.
Oh well guess I'll have to settle for a Stage II EPIC X.
    Poor me : )

Man, you can really make us laugh and put a smile on our faces.

    You deserve all the best.

Patiently waiting for stage 2 Epic, if I had the cash I would not think twice and get in line for an Epic-M

Great to hear this, I wish I could, but I'll gladly wait for the production one. Hopefully come soon.

Absolutely understand the premium prices, just running the numbers to see if it makes business sense, and Dec. is awfully close!
SSD mags may be more as well, as they will be machined for this first batch. Wait till you see these machined SSD mags...

and Cast Side SSD module for Epic is $1500 production price. Double that for machined.

I thought it was established that SSD had become a default part of the brain? Or is that special pricing for these EpicMs?

The Brain is the default part of the Brain. Just like on the Red One, the side recording module has always been extra.. be it CF or SSD.
