I think the language was "We expect". Slightly less definitive.
In normal speak, I read that to mean I may have my Stage 2 EPIC in the May/June timeframe. Which strangely enough, was about what I expected!
Thanks for pointing this out. I couldn't get myself to read the other thread. However, note that he says "assembly" to begin. Not "deilvery" to begin.
Great news
I think the opinions largely differ depending on two unknowns:
1. How much time difference are we talking about?
2. What is the additional cost?
Without at least rough idea on 1. and 2. I don't think anyone can give a meaningful answer.
Edit: OOPs, sorry I missed Jim's guidance on the time scale, so it is just the matter of cost.
Can I get a link to the original comment so I can see the context? What program is Jim talking about?
Jim has just said you are looking at about 45K for handbuilt/custom Epic Brain.
People can take or leave it, he is offering it as a service to customers.
A bit out of my league but great for those who can afford it. The great thing about Red is they are looking after all professional users from the indi- guy (me) to the big guys. After reviewing this thread I am more convinced than ever we should build these machined, hand built bodies. I'll announce a price (probably around $45K just for the brain) and see if anyone wants them. I will probably build some anyway because it is in our customers best interests. We will learn a lot from the process. If no one wants them, I'll keep them for myself... Jim
I just wish we had a time scale for the Fixed Scarlet and S35; these are my Epic.
Great.
Any information about trade in allowance, execution of Stage 2 or 3, priority in the queue, etc.., or is it still in the works as we speak?![]()
