Since it was said earlier that Scarlet would trail the Epic by 3 months, can we derive that Epic ships latest in January XXI ?

    Martin,

could be but Scarlet S35 is probably easier to make it fast out now and it has more competitive price towards upcoming Sony cameras.

Sanjin, more speculation? Didn't we have enough of it already?

Scarlet will be shipping when the first client receives it. Period.

This confirms what I already said about that John Galt recent interview at CC and probably now all those Sony boys are coordinating with Sir Howard Stringer...

Wouldn't be surprised if Francis Ford Coppola or even George Lucas will shoot their next movies with new Sony PMW-FK3... cameras.

I was at the WABE conference in Vancouver, BC this morning at one of the few Sony press conferences announcing the F3L/K and it was a complete joke.

First they spent a solid 25 minutes going through a presentation devoted soley to bashing on bayer filtering, CMOS sensors, and rolling shutter artifacts.

Then right after they spend all that time trying to convince me that paying $76,400CAD for a CCD camera that can only shoot 1080 is a far better choice than any "CMOS sensor camera" they announce the F3 which.... Take a guess... Uses a CMOS sensor. But no wait, this is their Exmor technology, and it's made by "the company that has more than 10 years experience in designing digital cinema cameras" (actual quote of the presenter) and so it is obviously not the same kind of CMOS which we just spent 25 minutes talking about because we know how to make the best CMOSs on the market.

Yea OK Sony. What a joke. Half that presentation was them taking stabs at RED. They essentially tried to tell us 10 bit 444 was "just as good as" RAW and that their CMOSs were so much better simply because they had 10+ years making digital cameras. None of it added up or made any sense. compete BS.

It could be a release of the fixed Scarlett sometime between EPIC and S35 Scarlett... Something like January, February, March.

The fact is that S-35 Scarlett is going to be release before April... But Jim didn't say a word of fixed one. And we know that it had been a lot of time in parallel development.

Anyway it's an amazing new, Scarlett S-35 is the camera that I've been waiting!

There will be an announcement that Scarlet is ready to manufacture in April 2011. The first cameras will trickle out in June/July 2011 at the earliest.

Read the whole post. It's just another slip of the tongue from Jim, and he had to later add this disclaimer to calm any speculation i.e. threads like this!

Anyway Jim must be ready to start shipping Scarlet S35 before NAB 2011 otherwise...

..and because of that probably flying to Asia today early morning to push and rump up Scarlet S35 production right way...
