You know.. I forgot this part Peter.. In a way that really speeds things up.. Once they order parts, and the parts arrive, there is very little to stop them from building cameras right then and there.

It's possible that cameras could begin coming out faster than I had thought.

    Now THAT is interesting.

I can't imagine the SSD module (or media, at least) will drop all the way to my price range though. CF Module is still on for Scarlet, right?

The SSD side module is really good news and is keeping with the statement that the Stage 2 and Stage 3 Epics would have everything needed to shoot when shipped. Just put your lens on and go. Of course, they would have been shoot-ready if they had the CF module, but it would be like selling a Ferrari with a governor on the engine.
One camera is a shoot... two or more is a production.

  6. #86 Titanium edition of Epic?
Jarred, will the Stage 2 and Stage 3 Epics still be done in that Titanium special edition look as originally stated? It would look nice with the Titanium PL mount and red Hex screws.

I don't want to answer for Jarred, but i am pretty sure all Epics will be black, the tattoo's were. I seem to remember it stated that the raw aluminum finish was abandoned.

Only the tattoo's were supposed to be the special color, all other epics are supposed to be all black.

Mark, way before the Tattoo program was announced, when the trade-in your Red camera deal was first muted, it was said by Red that all Epic x (first trade-in customers) would get this special finnish on their cameras. It was mostly black, but on the sides of the brain and some modules, there was hints of a Titanium colour/ pattern. There was even mock-up 3D drawings of it, enticing us all to get on board. Happy I did, but it would be nice to know if this is still going to have a special edition look?
