From what I have seen in the past, I am quite sure that it will be fair ... no matter what it ends up costing.

I think a proper discontinuation of the side CF module is a forward looking step, and in time it will be seen as an extremely wise move.

It would make sense to do the same thing for Scarlet, but I can only imagine the feedback that would bring about.

The modules in the DSMC system are the same for both Epic and Scarlet so there will be no side CF module for Scarlet either. The CF card adapter for the SSD module means Scarlet users won't have to shell out the big bucks for SSD media, though.

Also remember that at 3k you are well within a CF card's comfort zone.

SSD media will not be as important

I've been wondering if the dual sensor sensitivity was up and working. Anybody know? While HDRx removes some of the need for this, I think its a great feature and a first for digital cameras if Red has done it.

Also, the RGB recoding options. Any word on how much you can mess with the colourimetry in camera? Many of us have become pretty efficient with Sony's f900 setup. Sadly sometimes you have to colour in the field.

Haha I wouldn't say "ignore," it's more of that we're running off possiblities here, so everything is a wonder! At least thats how I feel.

It'll be a possibility overload when the cameras are actually out, it's going to be ridiculous

I've gotten a pretty good idea of how long the battery in the side handle lasts through videos and posts over the months, etc..
Demos where the camera isn't in recording mode don't give a truly accurate account of power consumption.
