  1. #1 RED camera controlled wireless recording w/Teradek
Testing some soon to be released firmware for the Teradek Cube - very cool stuff. Automated wireless recording to H264.

Serve it up over AirVideo to iPads and iPhones on set.

    Check it out -

More details soon - huge thanks to Deanan @ RED and the Teradek gang for making this happen!!

another cool trick is to feed two cameras on a 3D rig into the new, forthcoming AJA HI5 3D - then stream a muxed 3D image wireless to a (soon to be released) Cube HDMI decoder - plugged into a 3D panel. Two tiny boxes on the 3D rig, one on the panel = wireless 3D.

Yeah - forget all those additional client monitors. Live to you clients laptop(s) and playback on iPads & iPhones. Very SMALL and very INEXPENSIVE. I just love how many different ways you can use it.

    Mark,

Does the Teradek connect to a wifi router or do the client devices connect directly to the Teradek?

You can do either actually - but it's more flexible and more clients can hit the streams if you connect to a dual band router.

    Mark,

What about saving the files to a "server" that could then allow an Ipad to access the files later on.. I know LightIron has an amazing piece of software to do this, but I'm not sure it's going to be for public consumption.

Is there an alternative (Although I'd like LightIron's!)?

When you record - you are in fact recording the files to a server - you choose any destination over your network - or internet.

This server can be your laptop for example. In the video - I was testing using TWO cameras recording to my 17" laptop - and serving those files out from my laptop using AirVideo (which is FREE FYI - Mac, PC and Linux)

With AirVideo - you are serving those recorded files out to iPads and iPhones (if you want) - you can always transfer the files (I use DROPBOX) to the iPad locally if you want to be watch the clips later - when you are away from any network.
