If i was too guess I would say yes it applies to rendering as well.... exporting a prores 4444 4k 2:1 file its about 15% complete after 1 min for a file just over 2 minutes long.... not to shabby.
Ok on second thought... It's hard to tell.... been awhile since i exported out of color with anything other than prores.
I am out on the rendering as well. Have to A/B.
No redlogFilm or curves in the redroom for now. (No surprise there, though)
Accelerates playback. That is good.
And what Rob said.
And enough to throw a party!
RedRoom seems to work like it did.
Will try to send over some spanned r3d's to check the looping bug.
BTW, these aren|t complaints.
Just happy that thing is moving along!
I will start testing as sooon as I reach my studio. Thanks Rob. Need any log or other info from the system?
Playback was great even at 4k, though it did "jump" just a bit at full 4k, it played back fine for the most part. 2k was smooth as butter.
Thanks for the testing guys!
Yes, it should accelerate both playback and export, BUT, there is only so much we can do from the plugin side, so it won't be as fast as say REDCINE-X
We will be adding REDlog Film to both Color plugin and the QuickTime codec before final release.
We cannot change the RED room user interface in Color outside of the gamma & color space lists, so no higher ISO's, white balance picker or curves etc.
Regarding the spanned R3D looping thing: as far as we know this problem occurs in Color before our plugin even gets loaded, so there is nothing we can do to fix it in the plugin.
By the way, all thanks should go to Gavin on the RED team, he's been the one writing the code for this, I'm just the messenger ;)
Yay Gavin! Thanks for the hard work!
Rob- Love the Jarred quote... curious what context that was spoken? :)
Thanks Gavin! The playback speed is vastly improved as I'm testing a short one minute footage on my secondary system. So far there's no side-effects to this plug-in, which is a very good sign.
By the way, where is the "REDcode System Preferences pane" located at?
I will be back after some rendering tests. You guys just saved me about $5,000 since I was very close to moving onto Davinci. Now there's no need for that!
