Did anyone get a chance to check out what redrock is cooking up at NAB. Maybe I am missing another thread on this but I figured folks here would be interested.

THey say sonar based range finder will communicate to the follow focus and keep an accurate auto focus. Suppose to come out this summer for about 1000, and the complete system around 3000-4000.

This thing looks pretty ideal, anyone get a chance to play with it?

Hey CH. I've talked with Brian Valente of RedRock tons about this product. I saw it at NAB and then again at Cinegear in LA.

Prices are higher than what they had said before but very reasonable when you add motors and such.

The price points seems reasonable for me considering what hardware it includes. If this works as advertised then I feel it would be a great tool to have in a kit. Specially for hand held operators operating with a zoom lens, having focus and zoom controls at the finger tips would be ideal. Apparently they are shipping this summer but I am sure thats doubtful being that summer is gone. Thanks for the update dave.
