    REDcolor2 and REDgamma2.

Trust me when I say the lighting in there was difficult. Every color temperature known to man was blinking...

Looking forward to a more challenging test. Groom in black tux, bride in satin white in bright sun, getting into a limo with black interior and darkened windows, etc. Or a challenging landscape. Or a dark indoor scene with details showing in a window.

Vegas strip at night is like a giant softbox. Makes the already flat look of ungraded HDR look even more flat. Now if I could have seen some stars or even the moon in the night sky above the palm trees on the right I really would have been wowed.

But seriously, there's a lot to play with in grading there, and that, to me, is the key. Folks who are asking for side by side comparisons with non-hdr would likely be disappointed. The HDR footage looks flat on a computer screen, but it really takes grading of some sort to make it shine. Other disappointed folks are probably those who think overbaked tonemapping = HDR. It's not, though it is one way to process [ruin] HDR.

I like the blur panning in this mode. I actually think the "comet with tail" lights look more like rear curtain strobe with stills, not to mention more real and more revealing of detail.

I'm gonna give up trying to figure out how you do this at least for a while. It was an interesting way to pass the time waiting for footage, but the footage is here. And it obviously works. And besides that, every time Jim reveals a new detail I need to trash all of my old ideas.

Now I'd like my Scarlet Fixed, please. I think all of us are fine with the plan to release the HDR feature when it's ready - a month to even a year after the cameras are actually released. And if it's never released for Scarlet Fixed (which I doubt) I will still be happy.

This is interesting, it looks flatter than a Russian gymnast - that should keep the graders happy:)

Any chance of seeing this hocus-pocus on a daylight shot?

    Great stuff guys.

No matter what we post someone will want something else. We have extensive testing planned and lots to do to tweak the code. We'll post when we can because it seems to make everyone happy. :-)

I have to say that I really like Magic Motion the more I play with it. It is subtle when you watch playback, but is really cool.
