Will it be possible later on, say, I get a old 80's Nikon lens, stick it on my EPIC, can I set the infinity/close focus and have the AF remember that, and then possibly upload that online, so anyone with an EPIC/SCarlet can get that data? and use that lens?

Wow. Just... wow. The option of using Canon & Nikon lenses with full autofocus tracking is fantastic! Super happy to see it working already.

So, how's the S35 Scarlet coming along? ;)

Focus is manual, one touch on the run-stop button, touchscreen or Pro REDmote. Single or continuous... and tracking. Also... rate control. The system is designed to work with Canon, Nikon and other programs, but will work best with RED lenses. No surprise.

This is the bit that interests me the most. Any (even rough) ideas about the pricing for these lenses?

Same here. I plan on going FF35 Monstro as soon as it is available. No need to wait for the FF35 Epic to start using the Red FF35 lenses though. Just get a Red Electronic FF35 mount for the S35 in the meantime.

When using PL lenses the forward pointing LCD/EVF cable will be in the way of focus and iris motors.
    Actually it won't.

By aiming the plug back towards operator, it stays tight to the body and has far less risk of getting hung up on things. By aiming it forward, does it not run the risk of banging into follow focus, or mattebox or other things on short lenses
    See above.

    This point has been considered.

Will a (dare I say it?) stylus work on the screen, or will it be a capacitive-touch screen like the iPhone and only detect human skin?

    Keep up the good work!

I know, I know... Shallow DOF is overrated. But I like it. And from this Scarlet 2/3 sensor, even this short clip has some decent bokeh.

Seems like the AF is working a lot faster than on a Canon body...will focus tracking only be available with still lenses with motors built in or will you be able to connect lens motors to the camera body to utilize the in camera focus tracking?

Apart form a couple of modest film ideas, I'm looking forward to using the stills function for my next fine art portfolio. It might not make it in time for a couple of solo exhibitions scheduled for next year, but I look forward to extending a RED tinged gallery/museum invitation in the near future. I figure that's the best way to say thanks.
