I am only a part time geek but wont Thunderbolt help sort this out as it has speed and uses the PCIe protocol? Of course Thunderbolt expanders do not exist but is there any reason to think that they are not coming soon?

We went with the Cubix for our Avid/Resolve system.

Thunderbolt will be nice, but it will not replace a a 16x PCIe expander.

My Cyclone expander with 20Tb RAID has been running strong for a year now. I highly recommend the Cyclone systems. I looked at the Cubix systems, and found the Cyclone systems to be much more flexible.
