I hate to be that guy, but why no ears on the mount? How are you supposed to safety the lens mount when you mount the camera on the front of a roller coaster for the Six Flags commercial?
So is there any good reason to chose Titanium or Stainless over Aluminium for normal use ?
Anyway, good to have the choice.
tape it up... thats what the big dogs do.
Its funny people used to actually drill holes in the Arri PL dog ear tabs and safety wire the mount to something.. We heard enough stories form AC's of those little tabs that are held in with little tiny screws rattle off and the safety wire then become useless that they just tape them up now, and the tabs actually get in the way of that.
Hey Jarred,
I'd like to point out that a lot of people begged for a higher quality mount a while ago, and here you come up with one. I have to assume, that because you designed Epic to handle back focus IN CAMERA instead of on the mount, you created a much simpler design requirement on the mounts themselves. This means mounts are easier to make, and you can make any type of mount that covers the sensor, and has demand.
Sometimes I wonder if people realize the true beauty of the Epic design is not what you CAN SEE but the potential for what's to come because of what we CANNOT SEE.
In simple "RED101" terms:
You ain't seen nothing yet.
Good work to you all.
Jay
