Looks like an Tattoo Epic when I grow up I want to be like Dino he is my hero.
guys, thanks for the nice words of encouragement, it is great to see all the support for our efforts out here on the battlefield.
for the record...
David Roodthooft & Michael Muller - Directors
Damien Vena - Producer
crash (karsten gopinath) - dp
Jeff Ferarro - GAffer
Matt Blum - Key Grip
Joe Pro - First AC
DIT - Dino Georgopoulos
Camera - Red#0031
Camera - 2 x 35mm (i dont remember which ones) - but one had a hand crank...
Lenses and support - Camtec - Thanks Kavon!
the shoot was pretty straight forward, actually it was a stil shoot that we piggy backed onto, so we really only worked for a few hours...i invited jarred up to the helipad to watch a bit, it was great to see him out on the front lines with the troops...(he pretended to bring me a hard drive to get through security , it was classic...)
glad you enjoyed it, if you watch HBO then you will also see Promos for Hung, which were also shot with RED#0031 MX and also for First Blood, which parts of those promos were shot with red#0023 MX also by crash- we were on the hung job on the same day so could not be in two places at once.
logistically, for Entourage, we had the RED#0031 MX on a technocrane and the film cameras were on a dolly and sticks...so any big moves were done with the RED, like the push through to downtown and the overhead stuff...
I love how it works so seamlessly...please reference this promo to all of your clients that doubt the quality of the red and its ability to mix with 35mm..
enjoy, and thanks again for the kind words.
finally, i think we put a couple of these Entourage shots in the NAB reel, so if you were paying attention there, you had already seen a couple of those shots....but don't tell TW/WB/HBO
dino
One more screen grab about that famous R1MX shot of Epic in HBO Entourage:
